Development of action plans for the implementation of the Strategy:

The Social Development Implementation Sub-committee monitor and lead the process of formulation of focus area implementation plans   

Six focus groups were formed to produce draft action plans namely:

Health Focus Group

Safety, Security & Policing Focus Group

Substance Abuse Focus Group

Older Persons Focus Group

Education Working Group

Rural Communities Focus Group

In other focus areas such as Community Development and Family Support existing county-wide structures were consulted and proposed draft actions to the sub-committee for consideration.

The Social Inclusion Measures Committee is responsible for formulating a draft action plan for the Social Inclusion strategic focus area. This work is supported by the Social Inclusion Unit within the department.

The Sub-committee devised the following steps as guidelines for focus groups in formulating draft action plans:

A = Consultation on the membership of proposed focus group

B = Orientation of focus group members including a presentation on the CDB Strategy

C = Participants’ perspective on their respective organisations’ possible impact on the achievement of the set strategic objectives

D = Developing strategic actions to underpin the set strategic objectives

E = Completion of a draft action plan
