COUNTY CHILDCARE COMMITTEE

The Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Childcare Committee is one of 33 County Childcare Committees, which have been established throughout the Country by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform under its Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme (EOCP). The EOCP is an initiative which funds and supports the development of childcare.

In 2003, the Committee, by Ministerial order, became a working group of the County Development Board.

The Committee has developed a Strategy for the period 2002-2006 .

By the year 2006 it is envisaged that a range of affordable and accessible childcare options will be available and provided within the county, which are of a high quality and standard, are child centred, and are appropriate to the individual needs of the child.

The Mission of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Childcare Committee is to advance the provision of quality childcare facilities and services within Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, with a view to realising their stated vision.
